Description

I think if the Leafs have proved anything this season, it's that they are going to need to find a better partner for Muzzin. Holl was great alongside him in 2019/20 but ever since has been pretty bad. Every time these two are on the ice the team gets hemmed into their own end because they don't have the skill level to keep up with the opposing team on the cycle. It's going to be costly to find an upgrade, but I feel if the Leafs want to make a deep run, they're going to need one.

I don't think we need a partner for Muzzin.

I think the real need is top line LW and most importantly a Muzzin backup. What if Muzzin goes down? Who plays in his place? For that reason I would lean towards bringing in Oleksiak from Seattle.

Players like Saros and Tkachuk are untouchable. Fabbro and Zub just won't be traded unless a significant offer comes along.

There's much more at stake with Zub than just how good of a player he is. Right now, he is one of the most loved players in Sens history, plus their second best defenceman. Trading him would be like trading Tkachuk, i.e Melnyk committing PR suicide.

I know Muzzin has been bad, but he looks good with Liljegren and Brodie. So IDK if the issue is him or Holl?

because they were good a lot longer than that and replacing either of them with worse players who have been worse longer is a terrible idea?

Holl isn't good though. He was last amongst the 7 regular Leafs defencemen in xGF% the past 2 seasons.

If I am the leafs I am almost certainly not trading Niemela. Would have to be a stud coming back. No good/okay pieces. He looks incredible.
