I don't understand the Mrazek trade for a backup goalie who has been injured most of the time, seems over paid at $3.8M. Leaving aside that it would be very out of character for Melnyk to spend money ever, he doesn't seem to make them much better long term.

I really don't see how trading for Mrazek is Ottawa's best option in net. Plenty of free agent names to choose from, and all of them with better track records than Mrazek. Trading Formenton for a goalie who might only play a handful of game because he can't stay healthy is terrible asset Management.
