No way the sharks do that. Murray is awful. I don’t even care that Kane has baggage he is a 30 goal scorer easy in a full season

Oh 100%, honestly this is more if he clears waivers and DanJose decides they don’t want him on the team regardless. You think he get claimed?

No thanks. Murray makes 5.2 for three years and is a guy you never want playing, retaining on Kane would only cost us 3.5 x 3. Unless you pay a first theres no way we take an extra 2 mil a year

No way he gets claimed and no way he reports to the AHL. He will have to be traded with retention

No chance. Kane's cap hit is very high and San Jose has expressed interest in retaining salary in a trade with him.

I wouldn't trade him for Murray though. Our goaltending is fine as is, and Murray has been having confidence issues that I don't think the Sharks are equipped to handle as of now.

3,5M plus the amount Kane's replacement will make. Also, 3x1,6M after the 3x3,6M.

Murray has a cheaper deal with shorter term. A one for one trade would make sense for the Sharks cap-wise.

My bad, I thought you were talking about a buyout. I don't think anyone would take Kane with a 50% retention, however. I think teams will wait for a buyout to make him a DeAngelo type deal or ask for a sweetener for taking him, which the Sharks won't give.

The rumor now is theres a team in the east interested. We will wait and see. Still think id rather buyout than have Murray

How about a one for one deal, after which you buyout Murray?

Yeah I didnt know Murrarys contract details as well, but now that I look at it, if we couldnt find a 50% retained trade, this would be a good alternative.

We’ll see what happens but but they both cleared and might both benefit from the swap. Worst case scenario for Sj is Murray still sucks and you buy him out for less than what it would’ve been for Kane all while ridding yourself of the circus he brings.

Worst case scenario for Ottawa is Kane is still a massive off ice problem, never makes it to the ice and gets bought out for more than Murray’s buyout would’ve been. The potential of him getting his stuff under control and being a 30 goal scorer again is there but it’s small so I added a 3rd to compensate for the Sens taking the bigger risk along with the extra year of contract for a potential buyout.

Realistically the DeAngelo comparison is probably spot on
