Slavin might be the Canes best Dmen. And equally important for the Canes....young and cheap. Duchene under control for two years and Slavin five years. How's this....Duchene has five more points his season than Dman Slavin. So who is the better player? And you want the Canes to add a first rounder. You should get one star for thinking Duchene would be a difference maker with the Canes. He hasn't with the Avs.

I won't disagree duchene has had a off year. But duchene is the better player. And for a team looking for offense that's a great piece to add. I choose Slavin because I think the fit in Colorado is better than that of a hanifin. I would except hanifin, but you would have to give up more. And the 1st in what people call a "bad draft" is acceptable. The first IMO is instead of a roy or ganthier.

Just like you I do put a higher value on my teams players. But I also think duchene playing on the wing of stall will boost both players. I also look at it, that Carolina has a defensive piece we can use and one to step into your line up because of your depth.

I like this a lot, and I don't think it's entirely unrealistic, although I don't think Carolina will be throwing in that first with Slavin, and he might not be the one they'll give you from their stable of phenomenal pipeline of D-men. I do think Sakic is doing the right thing by slow-playing this thing right now, and hope Duchene will show his greatness at the World Championships in May to increase his value a bit more.

I do not believe that Felix Girard will ever be an NHL caliber player, and would rather see AJ Greer up with the team next year. Hopefully he's ready.

Good submission!

Thanks! At the end of the day they're all just fun ideas. I don't disagree with Girard not been the nhl, but at the same time this team needs to develop players as well. They have drafted decently as of late. But now let them develop which is why I think Greer should start in the ahl next year. If he's struggling with things in that league he will struggle even more in the big league. And I don't think there is a rush for him to be here.
