Mayfield is the best option, IMO. He’s got another year, for cheap.

Would probably cost more than you have here, but could benefit both teams.

Toronto gets the defensive help they need, and the Isles allow Dobson to get more minutes.

I’m not sure this would happen until Pulock is back, though.
Or we could send Justin Holl their way to fill a spot for some time, then he’d move to 3rd pair with a sheltered roll where’d he’d play better.

I haven’t watched a crazy amount of Isles games this year, because honestly they aren’t fun to watch this year, so maybe I’m off on Mayfield.

That doesn't get you Mayfield and I'm not sure if I'd call Lou your friend after the way his Leaf tenure ended

Holl would actually fit in well with the way the Islanders play. I haven't watched a lot of Islanders games but Lou likes shutdown lines and that kind of defensive game and that's exactly the play Holl is good at. He doesn't do well with an offensive D and he needs a solid defensive D he knows what they are going to do.

As for the Leafs defensive lineup Dubas will be looking for a player who's going to back an offensive D and do it well. He's not going to trade Holl and Leave Barrie and Reilly together.
