Hamonic was a free agent and signed in Vancouver because he only wanted to play in western Canada. Also, you can just sign any UFA you want, it's their decision where they want to play. Landeskog wasn't going anywhere but Colorado, picking him would have just been a wasted pick.

Milano definitely wasn't playing at this level last year but it wouldn't have been the worst thing at the time.

Drafting Gawdin would have been interesting but overlooking Giordano and Kylington for him would have been bad. The guy seems to play decent in the AHL but for some reason either hasn't been given a chance in the NHL or maybe his overall play isn't good enough. Either way there were two sure bets over a long shot.

Could have just signed Hinostroza in free agency and still got a decent prospect from Buffalo.

Don't understand picking Hamonic at all, even in hindsight.

Duchene over Jarnkrok yes, even Johansen I think would have been a good pick. He actually had better underlying numbers than Duchene last year.

Wasting a pick on Landeskog when everyone knew he was signing in Colorado would have been as dumb as picking Bayreuther and Quenneville, which Seattle did so doesn't surprise me.

I'm sure oilers fans would be fine now with not having Barrie.
