Jarmo might let Bean go for your first next year and a late first this year. We gave up a second for him this year and his value has skyrocketed since then. He has been better than most people's best case scenarios. Additionally, he is controllable for a long time and at a position where we have zero depth. Gonna take a big overpay for Jarmo to even answer the phone on him.

As far as do they need him? If he plays on the right side - yes.

I don't think we need any defender in the league who plays on the right side. First of all, I would look at his defensive play, experience and preferably physical play. I'm not sure if Jake Bean fits all of these categories, although he seems like a good player, but we don't want to pay that price, imo.
