Published: Jan. 7, 2022

This team as constructed is what the team would look like before the opening of Free Agency. Purposely left some holes in the lineup to be filled either by young players trying to graduate from Laval or players being signed through FA.

This team could really use a decent 3LD. How about Dermott for an AHLer like Caufield 1 for 1

Even with 50% retention Koskinen is a cap dump. Hes barely even backup quality

          Evolving Hockye says he's had:
          -4.74 this year
          -10.2 last year
          5.01 the year before
          -4.38 the year before.

now factor in the fact that he plays in front of one of the worst d cores in the league and is constantly overworked.

Different xG models are gonna have different values but either way hes been pretty bad in 3 of his 4 seasons, including the most recent 2. Not sure what playing in front of a bad D core has to do with GSAx - its goals saved above expected so it already accounts for the quality of scoring chances against. How is he overworked? He has 20 GP and 54.26 xGA, which means hes had an easier xG/60 workload than guys like Binnington, Shesterkin, Merzlikins, Hart, Allen, Nedeljkovic, Quick, Bobrovsky, Talbot, Lehner, Gibson, etc.

Even in terms of SA/60 he still has an easier workload than Demko, Allen, Reimer, Fleury, Binnington, Hellebuyck, Sorokin, Shesterkin, Talbot, Nedeljkovic, Hart, Merzlikins, etc.

Hes just not a good goalie
