I'd do the G trade. Has Monahan fallen off *that* bad?

HE has especially considering he's under contract through 2022-2023 season as well so Flyers add a 6 mil contract for another year, which would enhance the value.

I do think a 1st, Zary, Monahan would get it done easily though. Think taking on Monahan for another year is worthy of upgrading that 2nd to a 1st (preferably in 2023)

I agree, but according to Friedman they still want 'at least' what they wanted for us to keep him before the expansion draft (1st and 3rd) especially if they need to retain salary. I will apparently do anything to get Zadorov out of here lol

I would not do a 2023 first. We can be reasonably confident whether this team is making the playoffs for sure by the trade deadline so we know Shane Wright is off the table. What happens if you deal the 2023 first, Gaudreau walks in the offseason, and a bunch of our RFAs price themselves out and have to be traded? We fall off next year and gift someone Bedard (or another of the top picks next year). I'd rather deal the 2022 first when you know the pick is in the 17-32 range.

I would assume any pick in 23' would be conditional to protect a top 5-10 pick

Ah that makes more sense, I would agree with that
