He's right. I felt Kaiser asked too much for Giroux in some of his trades, but the Rangers will have to throw out a first and Nils for Giroux as a rental. They have plenty of depth at D, so the loss of Lundqvist is minimal.

I'll pass then - they are already getting a young defenseman which is exactly what they need

Just gotta see what your team needs the most. Personally I really like their D. Klingberg needs to go to a team that needs a PP QB, and he never gets that chance with Fox in the fold.

The NYR are an in division rival that has the potential to win the Cup this year. If the NYR want Giroux and trade can be made you have to understand that the NYR will have to pay up more than a team that is not a rival. That's just the way it is. A #1 and Lundqvist, possibly more if Braun is part of the package. NYR has plenty of CAP space the Flyers could oblige by retaining% of salary if package is even better giving NYR more options for addition pieces.

It's really going to depend where Giroux wants to go - He holds all the cards because of his NMC - I don't see a lot of suitors for him that have a chance this year where he can get a lot of playing time and can fit him under the cap
