Description
I have to say, I've never been more excited about a season then this one. The pens are playing great. Yes there are a few games where were not playing well, but everything has clicked so far with this team. The depth has been awesome which is important for the playoffs. Crosby, Letang, and Malkin are playing great as they should. Guentzel has been great. We've had players come out of nowhere for example Erod. Jarry has made one hell of a comeback from last year. I don;t know what else to say but i've ever been this excited about a season. If this is the one year we could go far in the playoffs, It's this year 100%. Sullivan is one hell of a coach and makes great coaching calls. Like putting in Jarry after desmith game up a goal in a 3-1 deficit to the blues (Which we came back and won thanks to that call). I just want to letall of you pens fans know that this team is great and we're [;aying great. I didn't feel good about this team going into the playoffs last year, but I feel 100% confident that we can get the job done. I've never felt more confident in any other year than I do now, it's incredible. I'd like to thank all of you guys for the 1,000 likes as well, much appreciated. Certainly a good community to be in that's for sure. Hope ya'll have a great day! The lines below are the lines for tonight's game vs OTT.

Not to be a Debbie downer but I'd wait till the playoffs to talk about Jarry comeback since thats where things fell apart last season.

But the pens have been great so far.

What do you add for a playoff run? Cost for pieces generally involve the 1st rounder if they're good players.

Can I interest you in a slightly used Marc Andre Fleury for the low low price of 1 (one) 1st round pick?

I don't really know what I'd want to change with the Pens, to be honest. Crosby, Malkin, and Letang haven't seemed to slow down yet (I think Letang is actually on his best point pace right now), Jake has been exceptional again, our defense has looked much better than I would have expected, and I honestly think Jarry could be a Vezina contender if he keeps his play up.

Not everything is perfect. Rust, Zucker, and Kapanen have had streaks this season where they haven't really impressed, and while they've been better recently, I still wouldn't mind seeing more from them. Other than that, our power play hasn't been what it usually is, and I'm hoping that it gets better because it is usually one of the best. Then as mentioned earlier, we can't predict that we'll play well in the playoffs, especially Jarry. DeSmith hasn't performed particularly well this season, meaning Jarry is getting a lot of minutes. I don't want to see him overworked, I think that will cost the team in the long run. Maybe DeSmith can return to form as a solid backup, but if not Domingue looked good in the preseason and then carried us against San Jose this weekend.

But don't entirely think giving the most important guys on the ice all the credit is necessarily accurate. The Blueger line has still been really good defensively. I thought losing Tanev would hurt them more than it did (but I still miss him). Heinen hasn't exploded like ERod but he's still doing much better here than he did in Anaheim last year. I don't think anyone expected to see O'Connor in the NHL at all. But I think the most impact comes from Boyle. He's taken on a veteran presence and leadership role this season, and I think that's made much more of a difference than he's given credit for.

All good points made here. I love that Tanev replacement in McGinn. He's been very solid and I think if we can play like we did against Vegas (In the 2nd and 3rd periods) then I think we can really improve on a lot of things. I'm still expecting there to be a backup trade at the deadline. Our Power Play has certainly improved from the beginning of the year and It should get better and better especially with Rust and Geno back up there.
