Traded

IMO These should be the first 5 players looked at to be traded. Chiarot, Lehky, and Allen all have decent value to add some B prospects or 2nd round picks. (1st in Chiarots case with 50% retained)

Hoffman could fetch an okay return but the term on his deal might be scary for some teams with the massive holes in his defensive game.

Armia at his current state of play could be considered a cap dump but to the right team he could fetch a middle round draft pick.

Players Left (Big Contracts)

Drouin: I see a lot of people outing Drouin in AGM Trades but I feel like he's here until his contract is up.

Gally: Heart and soul of this team for what seems like forever, unless he requests a trade I can't see him going anywhere

Anderson: Contract might not be the greatest but just like Gally, Anderson brings energy to the room and he could easily be a leader for our younger guys.

Toffoli: Similar to Drouin he gets alot of attention in AGM trades, even tho his value IMO you keep him and let him grow stronger bonds with Caufield, Poehling, and Suzuki as it would only help them to learn from a pro like Toffoli

Dvorak: Can't see a world where they trade a player they just got, especially when they would lose on the return from trading him now.

Byron: Seems like he might be back soon but I'm sure we will have the cap to let him ride the 4th line for another 2 years

Petry: Idk what's been up with Petry this season but I hope whenever Eddy comes back he can get back on track since he'll have less of a defensive commitment when he's on the ice allowing him to focus on his offence again.

Eddy: Hope too see him back soon as he adds a massive boost to our Defense. Eddy should be staying put

Savard: oh boy, this is gonna be a tough contract to deal with.

Price: I can't see MTL retaining more then 25% on Prices deal in any kind of trade so I think Price will be with us till the end (which is more then ok with me)

Let me know what you think and what players you could see gone/staying over the next 1 1/2 years.

I would say that the chances of trading Allen are slim this season as they just protected him in the ED. Also why would you trade Lehkonen? Him Poehling and Caufield have formed a dominant line offensively, I suggest swapping Toffoli for Lehkonen and moving Pitlick to C line 2 and trading Perrault instead. Lineup becomes

Lehkonen-Suzuki-Caufield
Drouin-Pitlick-Anderson
Toffoli-Dvorak-Gallagher
Byron-Poehling-Evans

Edmundson-Petry
Romanov-Savard
Clague-Wideman

Price
Allen

next TDL if we still suck: Toffoli, Petry, Drouin, Hoffman, Edmundson, Allen

I don't mind keeping lehky, he's one of my favourite players but he could easily be sent out and fetch a good return

Its unlikely he will be traded but he's one of the better value players MTL has to trade IMO.

On Toffoli it seems like he can get his game back to how it was last year if he can stay healthy, him and Suzuki have a good chemistry on a line just need to find the perfect 3rd guy

Something that was floated around on Hockey inside/out today was Lehkonen-Suzuki-Caufield Lehky creates space for Zuke and Caufield much the same way Danault did for Tatar and Gallagher

I think it could work, I always thought it was a no brainer to put Anderson with them and have Caufield play on his off wing.

I've also liked the pairing of Caufield and Poehling this year, wouldn't mind them finding stride as a good 2nd/3rd line option behind a Suzuki line, allowing Caufield to have a smaller advantage over playing against the other teams 1st line every game. (for now, as I'd hope Caufield can find his 1st line potential again)
