not trading Sandin for a guy like severson and ritchie and a 2nd is way better than Delzotto and a guy who wouldnt even make the leafs 4th line

How are the Leafs better trading two of their starters Kerfoot and Sandin for one Severson? They aren't and certainly it hurts the Leafs future. The fascination with other teams RHD

Thought Kevin Papetti made good trade suggestion: liljegren for severson, but don’t think it would be enough, so Sandin Kerfoot gets it done I figure. I think leafs fans might be too high on Sandin if they can’t let him go for a 27 yr old No. 2-3 dman. Severson can play top pairing with Reilly as soon as Brodie slows down a bit. Severson’s makes us a better cup contender this year vs current d-core. I might be undervaluing Kerfoot, I like him, but trying to create a plausible trade. The del zotto trade is largely for cap management and is completely Kevin Papettis idea. I think KPs recent trade musings were pretty clever. Nick Paul is heavy, and heavy on hustle and replaces that aspect of losing Kerfoot. In all, we lose a 3rd pairing LD (for now) and a middle 6 Swiss Army knife for a top notch 27 yr old top 4 RD and a large, solid bottom 6 LW who can also play C.
