Interesting roster, but I think its a bit too heavy on the Free Agent D signings. With how well Lindholm has played since he has been called up, I would not be surprised to see him on next years roster, especially if Bednar is back. He loves Lindholm. Andrei Mironov KHL signing his ELC with the Avs could be a wild card as well to start the year.

Hopefully they trade if they can but buyout beachemmin next season bc he does not fit with what the Avs are going to to be going fwd. I would be fine with the Alzner signing as long as they get rid of Beauchemin off the roster.

Fwd lines are a bit scattered but I think thats just details (like Andrighetto off the MacK/Rants line) and Jost moved to W

Alzner wants both more money and more term than that. Franson is an interesting idea for the Avs though. Lindholm, Mironov, Bigras are all better value and sense for the Avs than signing Postma.

I agree with the Postma signing. But Bigras will be in the AHL next year. He had a tough injury filled season so he needs more time. I might want to see the Avs resign Weircoich over Postma but getting another RHD in postma might not be the worst idea.

I would rather the Avs stay away from Alzner. I think he is going to age terrible and if its a contract with long term...that could be a disaster

Yes Bigras had the concussion this year and didn't make any real ground in his development. Still to me when this team goes out and signs Mironov and Butcher and then you add Meloche to the AHL team... adding a Postma doesn't make sense. Under contract already they have 5 at the NHL level (EJ, Barrie, Barberio, Lindholm and Beauchemin). Lets say Beauch is bought out like he should be and then the obvious signings (Zadorov and Mironov) get done. That gives them 6 already.

Now add whatever D they get in return from a Duchene trade and you're already at 7 D for the NHL. In that situation I'd rather just re-sign a guy like Wiercioch or Goloubef than go out and get Postma. Goloubef is actually the perfect fit there because of his AHL effectiveness. Add him to Bigras, Boikov, Butcher, Geertsen, Meloche and maybe Siemens and that's a real talented AHL blue line.

I hope Barberio doesnt get claimed by Vegas, he really has been the perfect depth add for them. Can move up to move in the Top 4 but really is a strong 3rd pair guy to play with. Him and Lindholm would be a solid 3rd pair next season, at least to start.

Duchene trade really is the key here. Do they get a Righty or Lefty. It seems like they have been attached to Right hand Dmen for the most part with is crazy to me. Unless they plan on moving on from barrie too. I dont know why they are linked to so many rights

So let's play with that a bit. For expo protection I'm imagining 8 skaters: EJ, Barrie, Z, Barberio, Duchene, Landeskog, MacK, Andrighetto.

As for targeting RHD in a Duchene deal, it's a tricky thing but I think it has more to do with EJ than Barrie. If they're looking to go real young, Johnson doesn't make a lot of sense for the team anymore. He'll be deteriorating right as the Avs enter the best years of their next window to win. I personally can't help but wonder about the EJ for Drouin thing that popped up a few months back. If the Avs trade Duchene for an RHD that kind of move would make sense.

That was from Dater and I dont think there was any credibility behind it, just him doing his normal running his mouth schict on twitter. I disagree about EJ, he really is the horse that makes that team work. Without him, Barrie was a train wreck and there is strong data that shows that Barrie is more effective, point producing and cf% 5v5 when EJ Is in the lineup. Barrie cant handle the match up game without a guy like EJ, plus I think he is the leader of that D Core and the voice of them. You do need a vet like him going fwd. I love Barrie but he isnt the Driver of that D Core. You keep him as long as they are able to build around the top pairing and his partner correctly since without guys like EJ, he cant do it alone

Apparently Tampa was looking at Tyler Johnson for Shattenkirk but he wouldnt resign there. I doubt Drouin is being shopped at all. My guess is Dater heard that rumour and he just did he normal thing of over rating and under rating players and throwing them out there. He thought Hamonic for Duchene was a good trade. I dont trust him when it comes to rumours

Those would be the 8 skaters to protect if Beauchemin waives his NMC. THey really need to figure out how to get rid of him, hopefully they really do look at buying him out this summer if they cant trade him.
