Now Lafreniere can get secondary assists and everyone will say he’s fine

The Rangers basically use 11 forwards every night cuz the coach will bench Lafreniere after the 1st period. It happens every game.

Is he bad defensively ? Any reason he does that?

Not that I've noticed. His defensive metrics are right about average this season. I think he plays extremely physical, finishes checks and digs for loose pucks. My only observation is he has the tendency to panic and defer when he gets the puck in high traffic areas, but it's not going to get better if he doesn't play.

That's going to happen if the player is reading the play but doesn't have the skill or confidence to execute his decision. I think NYR need to make a decision with him cuz if the coach can't find ways to help, then he needs to be sent down or traded.

he's made some nice passes as of late. what impressed me most w him coming out of juniors is his play making abilities. playing w kreider and zib should help his playmaking be effective
