Gee, I'm glad the Leafs operate with an 85m cap and have NHL Dmen in the AHL. Wow what a gross overpayment for Miller. Leafs keep two NHL Dman at a total of 3.5m, instead do one Miller 5.6m.
And certainly the Leafs aren't trading for position they are pretty deep in, and not giving up two picks and probably their best prospect in Niemela. No NHL team is giving up that much for Miller...even if they had cap.

Flyers may not like JVRs one year 7m cap, but it's better than the multiple years left for 6m Myers.

Oilers reject.

C'mon, you can't still be holding out hope on Benson, and the Ryan experiment has failed

No, with the way Myers is playing, I think they would be fine making this deal and taking on Myers for the last two years of his deal. We know Fletcher has been given the green light to retool in whatever way he see's fit. Also, with the way Risto has been playing, he might come relatively cheap on his next deal

If Niemela isn't on the table, then I dunno how interested the Canucks would be in the likes of Abramov or Amirov as alternatives. Might even have to consider throwing Liljigren there if not Niemela

Leafs don't need help at forward really, and they aren't in position to trade any Dmen.
The best deal for Miller I see for the Canucks for Miller is the Bruins. Canucks could take DeBrusk back in a trade....and don't have to qualify him. See what the Bruins could offer in futures. Miller certainly has spot on the Bruins at wing or centre.

Canucks aren't getting better by losing their biggest steal of a contract

Garland trade isn't likely I agree, just trying to make a statement that he won't come cheap if teams call the Canucks on him

He will cost more than that. Like Bruins add a 2nd at least
