Yes, I'm a Canuck can, I know you don't want to trade Addison but I think this is your year to go all in, and as you can see in pt 2, having Miller locked up next year for cheap will help maneuver the cap.

We aren't trading Calen addison much less adding a 1st round pick to it for JT. Jt Miller is a free agent next year and Minnesota isn't resigning him. Of course you as a Canucks fan will be bias. Luke schein won't play on wild. No thanks

I have no idea what you mean by Schenn won't play on Wild.

Anyway, Miller isn't a pure rental and provides a way for you to keep Fialas production (more) next year without sacrificing Dumba to do it.

Fiala won't be on the team next year. Also Minnesota 3rd pairing d is jon merrill and Dmitry kulikov who have been damn good, so there's zero need for schenn. He would just be a luxury suite player

I understand with Schenn now, I thought you were saying he would refuse a trade there. I agree but he is good depth and his value in the trade is negligible.

Fiala not being on the team next year is why I think Miller makes sense. You lose Fiala due to the cap next year and your teams gets worse than it is today.

You add Miller, not only do you get much better today, he also offsets the loss of Fialas production come next year, meaning the team takes less of a step back.

Minnesota has 7 to 8 players to resign or more with 12 mil in cap room. Having it does nothing besides that we would have to get rid of dumba, and fiala, maybe more to field a team and roster together

Did you look at part 2? It's pretty clear in there that you don't need to get rid of Fiala, Dumba, and more to keep Miller.

We actually do. You really don't know our cap situation. We have 12 mil to sign 7 players or more. When you see wild gains trading fiala that is why. Lme pf dumba, or Fiala isn't coming back because we need to field a team with the number of free / restricted free agent we have

Miller and Dumba are on this team, and it's a 23 man roster.

You can either have one of Fiala/Dumba, or 2 of Fiala/Miller/Dumba.

Miller at 50% makes less than 3 mil, he doesn't screw up cap

Im sure you’re aware, but IMO this is undervaluing Miller considering there’s that much retention.

As for the move, gosh I really wish I felt more comfortable making this trade. I love Miller’s game and he’d make us so much better, but I just get so gun shy with how tough these buyouts are gonna be.

I think something like this just comes down to risk tolerance and how confident you are with this being a contender level team. As much as I like Miller, I’m still not confident this puts us over the top. But I can def understand that others may disagree. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit it’s tempting.

Yeah, I undervalued Miller a little to try not to be a homer Canucks fan.

It's definitely a risk for you guys but it could pay dividends.

Also, not to sound like a broken record but if you check out part 2, I think Miller could be a good way to stay competitive next year even with the buyouts.

No I know, I saw your part 2. Trust me, I’ve sliced it every which way myself, and it’s less about getting it to work and more about whether or not it’s a prudent move for the franchise. There are good arguments to both sides. And this is a good proposal. I just don’t know what Guerin has planned. It’ll be interesting to see what goes down. My guess is he stays quiet and rolls with the team we have.

You're arguing with a troll who has made numerous accounts just to say the Wild say no to any deals offered because apparently he's the burner account for Guerin he's so plugged into what he's going to do.

Deal is fine, not sure I'd make it but for 2 playoff runs with a top 6 forward like Miller and a depth option in Schenn that has some playoff experience with Tampa makes sense even if the price is steep.
