Winnipeg 17/18 MAJOR MOVES!

Created by: scarbrow21
Team: 2017-18 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 6, 2017
Published: Apr. 6, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Major moves...HAH yeh right with Chevy?

Though FA could provide what this team needs to compete. Give Condon 4x what he currently makes to serve as a reliable vet backup to Helley or to split time when Helley Struggles...it's all the Jets really need. They don't need (and long term can't afford) a 5M plus goalie like Bishop or Fleury.

Pouliot is in the AHL and is due a small raise. He'd be perfect for the third pairing as he has excellent possession numbers and fits into the young core.

Connor and Roslovic turn our third line into a scoring line and the addition of the vet Jagr to mentor them really helps especially at his 3M cap hit. Who says you can't buy that kind of mentorship?

Team will absolutely make playoffs and win their first playoff game since relocation. They'll also most likely win a round maybe even go all the way.

expansion side deal. Enstrom waives his NMC with the understanding WPG has a side deal with vegas to not select him. They Select Stuart and receive Chiarot, Hutch, and a 3rd and 4th rounder to not take Enstrom (Mathias would be the best Fwd available and they'd surely take enstrom if no deal was in place)

Not so sure I'd include the term "Major". These seem like small moves that won't improve the Jets main need... which is goaltending. Condon may help, but he's not a for sure thing. Jager will be signing in Florida. He'll finish his career with the Panthers.

Vegas game the first year is about assets and acquiring as many as they can. Sure they want to be competitive but lets be realistic, they're going to be a bottom 5 team for at least the first 2 years. If Enstrom is available, they'll take him because the next best option (because it allows the jets to go 7-3-1 if enstrom waives) is Shawn Mathias, or Andrew Copp. 4th liners realistically. So they'd take enstrom, even though he's an expensive D option, and then trade him at the deadline for a pick and a prospect to a contending team while retaining salary which is more value than a Copp or Mathias would ever garner. They'd realistically get a decent prospect and a high pick like a 2nd or a maybe even a 1st depending on the year enstrom has.
