Description

IDK, just some ideas, cost is high, but Soucy and Toffoli are on nice contracts beyond 21-22 and upgrades at RW and LD and Giroux makes the team alot deeper for the playoffs.

If PHI is looking for a good prospect and a 1st and a 2nd, the NYR are offering two good-ish prospects and 2 2nds.
Soucy is a good 3rd pairing LD, big PK guy, a definite upgrade on Nemeth, cost a late round 3rd and a nice/good midlevel prospect who's not progressing in NYR system
Toffoli is a good winger, signed quite reasonably for 3 yrs, Blais is a nice mucker, ZJones is an upper ,midlevel dman prospect and a 1st. Not enough?

Gotta think that Philly wants a first for Giroux so rather than going after Toffoli I’d go after Dadonov or Smith from Vegas. Might be able to snatch Dadonov for like a 4th rounder.

Maybe but Reeves and Giroux leaving, almost account for Fox extension. Dont re-sign both Strome and Georgiev, who are around 7mil now, equal toffoli and soucy in money/cap. And theres still 7mil free. Move Nemeth and theres another 2.5mil free

Reaves is signed for another year and Nemeth has a modified NT clause. He has zero value right now and has some say in where he goes and nobody is gonna want that contract. Soucy has had a really good year, that trade isn’t getting it done

You cant use rentals as a basis for how you estimate the cap next year. Secondly if you think for one second that losing Strome so that we can keep Toffoli is better for this team youre absolutely nuts.

By my math, these moves could be done, and theres enough cap to account for Fox extension AND keep Strome AND acquire Soucy and Toffoli ....but a cheaper backup goalie would have to acquired. Georgiev traded... Sorry if I put that a convuluted way.

I was just saying there was cap space now and what happens with other moveable objects like Georgiev, Nemeth or Chytil or even keeping Toffoli in 22-23 is unknown.

I did a 22-23 and with moving/not-resigning 2 of Chytil, Nemeth, Georgiev theres enough money for a replacement and keeping Toffoli.
