Kubalik has 11 even strength points in 47 games. That's 4th line production with horrible defensive impact. No one is paying that.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you about these trades? I need to know before I comment lol

I mean a late 1st for a guy that could recreate that 46p in 68gp. Not saying I would personally do that but penguins traded Addison + 1st for Zucker. Also traded a 1st + for Kappy who only had 36p the year prior. That’s only a slightly better pace than DK is on currently

He said “best case” so I assume he knows they are slightly unrealistic. Imo they aren’t terrible. They fit the bill of best case

IMO Kubalik and Kapanen are probably about equal in terms value in a trade, and I've maintained that Kapanen is worth a 2nd + Decent (not great) prospect. Even with retention I don't think anyone gives CHI a 1st, but hey, it's hard to underestimate GM's from making bad decisions. If Rutherford were still at the helm then who knows, but Hextall is a miser, so this certainly wouldn't happen.

He isn't shooting 19% again. He can't even come close to that production.

Exactly why the Pens shouldn't do this trade. GMJR made so many bad trades and threw away futures that they can't do this.

They're best case scenario for me...figure you could use him for a playoff run and then flip him at the draft to try and recoup some draft capital. retaining the money and his past performance I think shooting for a first round isn't out of the question but also might not be likely
