Deadline ideas

Created by: RaZZe
Team: 2021-22 Florida Panthers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2022
Published: Feb. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I see the Panthers needing two kinds of additions:

1: This is the main need - A defensive defenseman to help Montour on the 3rd pair (or a 2nd pair guy to bump Gudas down, even though he and Forsling play really well together)

2: A guy who could play on the 1st line next to Barkov. Reinhart was supposed to be that guy, but now he's found incredible chemistry with Lundell and Marchment and forms the best 3rd line in the league with them. This one's tough and not probable, as there are not too many great wingers on the market. Their price will probably inflate out of the comfort zone of the Panthers.

The market is overflowing with dmen, though. That's why Montreal fans will most likely be hugely disappointed when they don't get a 1st, Tippett, Knight, and Huberdeau's soul for Chiarot.
Trades
1.
FLA
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Three-way trade:

NSH gets Vatrano
SEA gets Preds's 3rd-rounder
FLA gets Soucy
NSH
  1. Vatrano, Frank
Additional Details:
From what I've watched, Nashville could really use some middle-six scoring depth. Vatrano is a 20-goal scorer who could really help them come playoff time.
2.
FLA
  1. Soucy, Carson
Additional Details:
I like Soucy
SEA
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Seattle would be dumb not to be selling at the TDL
3.
FLA
  1. Giroux, Claude ($4,137,500 retained)
Additional Details:
Might not need this much retention. The Panthers could accept a million less and they'd still fit under the cap
PHI
  1. Denisenko, Grigori
  2. Tippett, Owen
Additional Details:
Tippett would most likely be a piece on the winger acquisition.

I believe Giroux's price would a 1st and a prospect. However, since Tippett is already an established NHL player, I see him being more than just a prospect with no guarantee of an NHL career. That's why I swapped the 1st-rounder to Denisenko, who is a former 1st round pick but doesn't hold quite the same value anymore.
4.
FLA
  1. Pavelski, Joe ($3,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Another option if Giroux isn't happening
DAL
The price would probably be similar to the Giroux proposition. Tippett would probably be a part of this one, too
    5.
    FLA
    1. Copp, Andrew
    Additional Details:
He's a center but also listed as a winger, so IDK. He could be added with no retention
    WPG
Copp would probably be cheaper than Giroux/Pavelski, but he comes with the risk of not being able to play on the wing. I have no idea of his value.

Maybe Tippett and something like a 2nd?

Copp plays the wing quite a bit. This year (and last year) he has played LW for both Scheifele and Lowry. Before 19-20, Copp was mainly the 3LW on the Lowry line.

Oh, cool! Then he should definitely be on the Panthers' radar.

Appreciate the Preds trade. We could definitely use someone like Vatrano
