Description
I came across this article by John Hoven discussing a Chychrun deal, from a Kings point of perspective. First, does anyone know if he is credible? Second, I found it well written and very reasonable, even if it turns out he's not. He sets the framework for a deal and agrees the price is steep. This also aligns with what insiders and Lisa Dillman has said. What he says, though, is that the price is 4 pieces with 2 players and 2 picks. He also gives some examples, see the text for that, but one is Turcotte, Vilardi and 2 firsts.

Cats don’t want nor need Kessel. The only way they take him is as part of a deal for Chychrun

That's too rich for my blood for Chychrun. Turcotte, Walker/Grans/Spence and the first is the most I'd go.

I thought he would round out the forwards well and is good in the playoffs (as well as bringing experience), but perhaps not.

I see where you're coming from. I wouldn't be too comfortable giving up a lot of assets for just one player either if the roles were reversed, especially if that player had underachieved as of late. On another note, you don't happen to know if that guy is legitimate or not?

Faber is VERY close to becoming untouchable for LA. The are extremely high on him.

The word is he’ll be joining the AHL/NHL very soon.

Yes I read the article. Yea he’s credible.

Both Hoven and Lisa Dillman are good reporters, and I would go along with any reporting of theirs.

I'm not trading Brandt Clarke or Brock Faber. They're the future right side of our defense, and will solve that question for many years.

I wouldn't pay two players and two picks for Chychrun, and that was before he started having a bad year. And given Arizona's need for warm bodies, I think they'd prefer two roster players or two guys ready for the NHL and a first-round pick over one player and two picks.

On another subject entirely, note that the 2023 Islander third goes back to NY if Andrew Ladd plays even one game next season.

Thanks! Yep, Faber is a good one. I would like him more than Turcotte in a deal, but understand you don't want to trade him.

Thanks for the info! Good points, we need players ready to play and just not cap dump bodies like last year. Yeah, I wonder how they solve that issue, perhaps we just buy him out. He hasn't been too bad for us honestly.
