either another struggling young forward or like an early 2nd rounder + roster player. hard to tell. i see a Patrick-Glass type of trade for him

Not true. He had a rough start to the year, sure (quick reminder LA started 1-5-1 to start the season so everyone was bad), but he hasn't gotten back in the lineup because LA is in the process of transitioning him to wing. He's been playing and learning the position in Ontario and is over a PPG in the AHL. He'll be called up soon enough.

See the above. With the signing of Danault and the drafting of Byfield, there wasn't a spot for him as a center in the Kings organization. As a result, they asked him to learn how to play wing. He's done what's been asked of him all season and should be rewarded with a call-up soon.

LA has a habit of slow-building their prospects. You see it with Kupari, Turcotte, and even Kempe played over 100 games in the AHL. Just because he isn't on the NHL roster this year doesn't mean he isn't a part of the Kings' plans moving forward. He was thrust into the 2C position last year in his first ever full pro season (so he was a rookie playing 2C) because LA had absolutely no center depth outside of Kopitar, and he was understandably outmatched. But he's got definitive top-6 skill, and that skill is just being marinated in the AHL while he learns a new position.
