depends though if giroux is willing to resign with whatever team trades for him then yes it will cost more but at the current moment it sounds like giroux wants to retire a flyer and will just resign back in the offseason so i highly doubt teams move a 1st or top prospect for a guy that is 100% not coming back after playoffs

Giroux will get a 1st, how much after that is up for debate.
He's one of the few rentals I think who can get a 1st, that is more out of demand than anything else.
He can play C, which several teams need. That's going to be the deciding factor on his cost.
