Ottawa cared about saving money. Also replacing dead money with usable money.

Chicago it was about in-season LTIR.

Seabrook will be very attractive to Zona after that signing bonus is gone.

They also flipped both Paquette and Coburn

That was part of the deal later

Ottawa was hoping Dzingel would gain some value and could flip for a pick. Paquette interested the canes and they gained cap space.

No they didn’t.

They acquired him because it allows them to use LTIR relief and be able to exceed the cap in certain ways to help afford their contracts.

They’re not not gonna freely help another team save money. It’s a business, not a video game.

Man you have no idea what you're talking about...

If your cap is 80M w/out Seabrook and then you add him then yea technically you go over the cap ceiling but it’s a net neutral effect.

80M + 6.875M = 86.875M

Seabrook to LTIR
86.875M - 6.875M = 80M

= net neutral effect

er not exactly here, that would be correct if the team was right at the cap ceiling of 81.5M (or right around it) but not when you are 1.5M under the ceiling. you essentially loose that 1.5M entirely if you have a contract like Seabrook's on LTIR putting you above the ceiling
