So then it becomes a 1st (which will be late with how good the Oilers are) and two prospects I’m not familiar with. Shame on me if they’re good because I genuinely don’t know, but my gut says if I don’t know em then it’s prob for a reason.</div></div>
The picks for any contender are going to be late in the first. And he's got Campbell retained down to 3 million. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Campbell's contract's buyout structure, but its super cheap. The buyout would only carry a 1 million dollar penalty next season, and that's before Edmonton retains the 40% of his contract. Also the St. Louis trade (which is considered the biggest deadline add in the salary cap era) also had a cap dump going back to tampa.
This would still be the best return for any player at the deadline maybe ever

Don't listen to these goofs.
This would quite possibly be the biggest deadline trade package in the history of the modern NHL. Almost nobody ever gets a return of multiple 1st rounders at the deadline, let alone with 2 decent prospects. This is more than Tampa gave up for Ryan McDonagh and JT Miller at the deadline combined. This is more than the Rangers gave up to acquire Marty St. Louis.
Not saying this trade is likely, but the value is too much, if anything

Worst contracts team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Term AND aav vs production makes it a crazy bad contract
All this defensive center statement when he plays sheltered minutes. Zero selke votes</div></div>
Last year Marchand and Mangiapane recieved 0 selke votes too, I guess they're bad defensive forwards now according to you?
And imagine thinking that total points is the only way to measure production. As people have already pointed out to you, he put up 42 points while not getting top 6 minutes or consistent power play time. He's 23 years old and putting up very solid 5v5 numbers while playing a responsible 200ft game. Keep ignoring the facts. Literally everyone in this comment section disagrees with you...

Edmonton doesn't touch that. Saying Bouchard is a 6/7th dman is like calling Kyrou a depth forward. I like Parayko, but right now his value is lower than Bouchards. Everyone in this comment section gets that except you...

That matters, now they'd get more at the deadline, it was actually good asset management for a change.</div></div>
I don't think he said anything about being an rfa dude. Fact is he has a low cap hit and teams could easily fit him in their lineup without having to move out a contract. Simple as that, low cap hit this season makes you extremely valuable

Yikes on that Chychrun trade. Knies is a great prospect, but no chance they don't ask for a 1st on top of it

They acquired him because it allows them to use LTIR relief and be able to exceed the cap in certain ways to help afford their contracts.
They’re not not gonna freely help another team save money. It’s a business, not a video game.</div></div>
Man you have no idea what you're talking about...

That doesn't get you Sam Reinhart, and you don't trade Draisaitl unless he demands a trade, this is horrible

Laine amp Hoffman Dream Scenario
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>i dont like comments like these. Weegar is a solid top 4dman, Tippett is an NHL ready prospect. Sourdif and the 1st and Keeper are future solid pieces. But dont act like its all futures, thats 2 guys that are coming into your lineup right away and another 2-3 in the next few years. So its not all futures. Its a very solid package</div></div>
Weegar and Tippett don't get you anywhere near Laine though.... You need a bonified top 6 player, Tippett isn't that yet. And if you think Weegar is good enough to be the main piece in a Laine trade, I don't even know what to say. Quality not quantity
