Zero chance Edmonton looks at that. Bouchard is their #1 offensive defenseman now that they've traded Barrie, they aren't trading him for a 30 year old with a bad back and a long contract! And then you have the temerity to ask Edmonton for 2 high picks?

EDM can't afford Parayko. He eats up the majority of their cap, with a number of guys to sign. Plus you're asking EDM to overpay.
Scandella would be future considerations and nothing more.

Interested to see how some of the reclamation projects (Kapanen, Vrana, Blais) fair with a full year with the Blues.

His back is only bad from having to carry the rest of that defense

Oilers badly need defense, they will be dumb not to take that. Bouchard is a #6/#7 on a contending team

So the team that went to the conference finals last year and has the 2nd best record in the NHL since January 1st isn't a contending team? Because Bouchard is their #3 defenseman

They should’ve stated on a contending defense. Edmonton is a contending team because they have the undoubtedly best and another top 5 player on their team.

Regardless, don’t think Edmonton can afford Parayko anymore. He’d help them much more than Bouchard. But with the Ekholm addition the cap would be too much of a nightmare.

What a dumb comment.

Bouchard is already on a contending team and he's most certainly NOT a #6/#7. Since January 10th (half the season) Edmonton Oilers have the #1 record in the league and have the best goal differential.

And since acquiring Ekholm Edmonton is 3rd best in CA/60, 7th best in SCA/60 and 7th best in HDCA/60, all at 5v5. Their all situations xGA/60 is top-10 in the league. They aren't so desperate for defensive help that they would massively overpay for an older defensive defenseman on a big contract who has back issues.

If Bouchard is in your d-core, that means your team has a weak defense group. He wouldn't even go anywhere near Boston, Tampa, Toronto, Colorado, or Carolina's top 6

Oilers only went to the WCF thanks to playing against the Kings and Flames. Once they played a real playoff team, they got swept. Play in the East and there probably won't be any playoffs for the Oilers

Since Barrie was traded Bouchard has stepped up with 3-12-15 +7 in 18 games. Only Draisaitl McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins (in that order) have more points in that span. He's 23 years old and has been showing off his offensive prowess in a secondary role for 3 years now. He already has more value than Parayko, and Parayko would NOT have more impact on the Oilers roster.

The Oilers skaters did better against the Avs than Tampa did, the difference was goaltending. Edmonton's goalie was playing on a broken ankle.

More blind, useless conjecture from you.

Look at 5v5 scoring rates for the past 3 years and you'll see Bouchard is in the top-10 in the entire league among defensemen.

You really don't know much about hockey.

Now you're going with an unproven goalie in the playoffs? If the Oilers don't beat the Kings in 4 games, then the season is a failure

Like I said, Bouchard being in your top 6 doesn't scream 'contender'. He isn't going anywhere close to a contenders defense group

Edmonton doesn't touch that. Saying Bouchard is a 6/7th dman is like calling Kyrou a depth forward. I like Parayko, but right now his value is lower than Bouchards. Everyone in this comment section gets that except you...
