What could Edmonton add to make it go through? (assuming that philly has made Konecny available)

I think 2 first round picks, a former 1st rounder, a 19 year old dman playing significant minutes in the KHL is a good base, no?

Don't listen to these goofs.

This would quite possibly be the biggest deadline trade package in the history of the modern NHL. Almost nobody ever gets a return of multiple 1st rounders at the deadline, let alone with 2 decent prospects. This is more than Tampa gave up for Ryan McDonagh and JT Miller at the deadline combined. This is more than the Rangers gave up to acquire Marty St. Louis.

Not saying this trade is likely, but the value is too much, if anything

Pick 32? and you take on years of an unplayable goalie. Sorry smart teams don't do that

Philly ain’t taking the Campbell contract for starters. That in itself is worth a first to take it. So then it becomes a 1st (which will be late with how good the Oilers are) and two prospects I’m not familiar with. Shame on me if they’re good because I genuinely don’t know, but my gut says if I don’t know em then it’s prob for a reason.

The picks for any contender are going to be late in the first. And he's got Campbell retained down to 3 million. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Campbell's contract's buyout structure, but its super cheap. The buyout would only carry a 1 million dollar penalty next season, and that's before Edmonton retains the 40% of his contract. Also the St. Louis trade (which is considered the biggest deadline add in the salary cap era) also had a cap dump going back to tampa.

This would still be the best return for any player at the deadline maybe ever
