B's 17-18,

Created by: Moog121
Team: 2017-18 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 11, 2017
Published: Apr. 11, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Need to acquire top line RW as Senyshyn most likely won't be ready. I'd rather overpay for Coyle who is cost controlled, versatile, big, and a great local kid. Sign Bjork to 2nd line and bring back some sandpaper in Acciari/Schaller. Vegas will pickup McQuaid or K Miller to loosen logjam of RD. Slide Backes down to protect JFK. Hope Vatrano gets stronger and is less of D liability as his shot is lethal. Would like to resign Moore but will make too much $ after a great year.

I actually like the roster a lot, but you're setting yourself up for big time cap issues with a bottom 6 containing two players making a combined 9.8M.... Beleskey would need to be moved.

He was traded in the Coyle trade.

Is this pre-expansion? Coyle seems like a good fit to be traded from the wild, and Zboril coming back makes a lot of sense. How much is spooner looking at making? MN has a bunch of cap issues with RFA's already so acquiring more guys they have to sign would not be ideal. Might work better to get another prospect, or just a future first and Zboril.

Spooner could be looking at 3-4M

So same as coyle. If it doesn't help the Wild's cap issues I just can't see them going for it, even if I think (without knowing Zboril) its a pretty even deal.

Spooner will be looking at closer to 3-3.5 mil. With the season Coyle's had, I'm guessing he'll be looking at closer to 4.5-5 simply because his size and two play is more valuable then Spooner's style of play.

Coyle is signed at $3.2 until 2020

Nvm then, I thought he was an RFA. I cant see why Minnesota would want to part with him then if he's signed for that amount and term.

They don't unless he's invisible in the playoffs.

Wild will have to choose who to sign with Granlund, Niederreitter, and Haula all looking for raises. Coyle has been playing down on 3rd/4th lines. Perhaps with Hanzal leaving as an UFA they would entertain Spooner as a cost effective replacement 3C. With the season he has had he might cost in the range of 2.5-3M. Throw in some sweeteners like a young D = Zboril or Lauzaon and a young forward like Debrusk or Heinen or even defensive challenged Vatrano if that is what it take to happen. Coyle would be a star in Boston.

Would love to get rid of Beleskey if anyone will take him...maybe Vegas or Coyotes or back to the west coast. Hope they don't protect him in the expansion draft.
