Description
Not sure what the value on Crouse + Chychrun is but this could work out well. Hurts shipping Sundqvist (Arz flips him and Scandella for additional assets) but it helps fit Chychrun under the cap and Crouse is good and would fit well. Recall Joshua to fill the extra roster spot. Bozak had a good game, still like a heavier 4th line though and Kostin may have earned another look in the top 9. Maybe see if Vladi and Schenn can recapture their chemistry together when they returns and hopefully Kostin and the Russian connection works well.

Whats Crouse value? he's worth a good fetch right? You think the Scandella+Sundqvist contract swaps are worth it right? What would the rest of the package be? Could be a glove fit.

Would removing Sundqvist and Crouse be fine or do you value Hofer super highly? I think Bolduc + Perunovich + 1st is a good base for Chychrun, then there is the cost to dump Scandella

1- Nowhere near that. Frankly, he's no better than a healthy Sunny. He is definitely a Blues type player, I'll give you that. But I have no idea where people get the idea he's worth some big price.

2- Good heavens, no. The price to move Scandella is not close to Sunny. A low pick, at most. Frankly, he should not have negative value. That's just hysterical. The guy is easily better than Chiarot, who people seem to imagine is worth a 1st as a rental.

3- I do not want Chych. They're asking too much. Give me Soucy, Gavrikov or Graves and I'm tickled.

1- Yes, Hofer has excellent value to the Blues. As he should.

2- I think this base is okay enough, but what do you imagine the cost to move Scandella is?

    1. Fair enough, I don't think Arizona is going to look at a goalie anyways besides Knight.

    2. With 2 more years left? Tough call. His value isn't exactly negative as he is still an NHL caliber player, but it's also not really positive because of the cap hit. Maybe a 2nd in value?

I didn't have Sunny there to dump Scandella, had him there for his cap space too to make the deal work and his value in the trade. Sunny is worth like a 2nd and a 3rd maybe, not sure. Scandella, regardless of what people say someone would roll the dice on him and give up an ok pick. Bolduc, Perunovich and hofer are close to 2 1st value. So let's say the packaged value in picks is like a 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd in total value maybe. Crouse = a 1st easy. Chych=2 first + ? So maybe a bit too much, but considering other teams are bidding on both players that might get it done/be worth it

A 2nd to move him? Or a 2nd as the return for him? I'm not sure which you mean.

Cost to move, he doesn't return a 2nd with his contract. To me he's kinda like Lucic on the Flames (not comparing cap hits) serviceable depth NHLer that is overpaid. Moving him, especially in this case to a rebuilding team will not net a positive return

Okay, I misunderstood about Sunny, but honestly that just makes it worse. And why are Perunovich and Bolduc "close to 1st" value? They are both better value than a 1st.

Long story short, Army is almost certainly not doing this, nor should he.

Okay, well saying it costs a 2nd to move him is the very definition of saying he has negative value. And not only that, but relative to his remaining deal, that is pretty much the highest possible negative value cost there is.

Scandella is not negative value, and he is definitely not the most expensive negative value that exists. That's just crazy. He's an okay 3rd pairing guy and excellent penalty killer who is very much a plus skater. I have no idea how people get this notion that he is a 100% pure cap dump.
