Ideal Playoff Lineup

Created by: Rayzns
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 22, 2022
Published: Feb. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Thought Process:

Make roles in the team more concrete. '

Kerfoot out & Holl out.

Need top 6 LW, 2nd pair RHD, assuming muzzin is out long term and potentially for the playoffs a bottom 4 LHD. In net the leafs situation is rocky but to fill the above needs idk if they have the assets or cap space to fix everything.

Need LW2 to be played by a true top 6 player. Kerfoots been great hes a good player just not perfect in this lineup. Holl statically has been a net positive player. I don't like him on this team though I think there are options out there that can replace Holl and make this team better.

I want the Lineup to look as follows:
Bunting - Matthews - Marner
J.T Miller - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Kase
Mikheyev - Spezza - Bastian
Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Manson
Soucy - Lyubushkin
Trades
1.
SEA
  1. Hollowell, Mac
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
Kerfoot + Prospect?
Not sure if Leafs would have to add pick for this but would listen if needed
2.
VAN
  1. Holl, Justin
  2. Liljegren, Timothy
  3. Robertson, Nicholas
Additional Details:
To gets the best player and pays Vancouver to eat holl's Cap. Leafs pay them 2 impact prospects that are more inline with the Canucks window. I really considered adding picks on either side but I feel each team gets what they need the way this deal sits.
3.
TOR
  1. Manson, Josh
  2. 2022 4th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
This is the player TO needs. If the lineup were to be played as I present it he is the perfect fit.
ANA
  1. Anderson, Joey
  2. Dermott, Travis
  3. 2022 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Dermotts value is underrated around the league. He is a useful player and will continue to grow. In this trade im valuing the cap relief Anaheim taking provides more then him as a player.
4.
NJD
  1. Menell, Brennan
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (TOR)

What's the deal with Liljegren? He's been mentioned for years as someone whose coming as an impact player but he hasn't yet. Am I missing something with him?

Seems like the only player of real value in that trade for Miller is Robertson. Which sorry, isn't going to be enough to take on Holl and get you Miller. I think you have to throw the first in to get this deal to shake out.

Lilly has been in a sheltered role but has shown glimpses of being a great two way D he is just unable to get playing time (which he is now) like a-lot of former Leafs prospects,He is a great Rd and you can see his iq on the ice so its not Robertson & thats it, its Robertson & a potential great RD. Though i would add a 1st & Holl gets crapped on too much by the Media in reality he is a Decent Rhd on PK & even strength, yes he makes a few mistakes but the mistakes usually don’t cost goals which is the funny thing all those turn overs usually result in low danger shots cause of his big frame & long stick

I really think people are undervaluing Lily and Holl. They are definatly more then worthless throw in's. Lily has great potential, Holl is serviceable probably just worth his contract and not a penny more. I would throw in a 3rd or less but I think its fair value. If proposed irl I feel like Canucks accept.
