Description
I know they said kronwall will try and play. But I have a strong feeling he's gonna change his mind before the season.

I know that it's Detroit and liljegren and hronek both won't be in the lineup next season. But this is my team. And I think they should be, and are a better option than sproul/Russo.

This first two lines have one passing winger (nyquist, svech) and one shooter (Tatar, mantha) to balance them. With good two way centers between. The third line is a matchup line for opponents top lines. Fourth line is pure sandpaper.
I am not exactly sure how Nashville values Ekholm but I would think they would move him before expansion and do a 7-3-1 instead of losing heir current second line center. Personally think aa can fit he bill of what they need whether they play him at center or wing.

I would agree on not sending AA for him, I would try to pry Ellis from Nashville

Ekholm is fantastic and AA wouldn't be enough imo but I'm a jets fan and I'd do pretty much anything for a top pair LD so that Morrissey doesn't have to play 60 mins.

Ekholm won't be exposed to the expansion draft, Nashville will either go 4/4 or trade one of their top 4 D.
Ekholm is #73 in points for D (60th over the last 3 years), #19 in SAT% for D (He's 8th in SAT% for D over the last 3 years), played the 24th most minutes per game and 14th most minutes overall of all D.
Ekholm is at least a very good #3D shutdown D, i would argue he's a top 45D, which is at least an average #2D.
I would not trade him for a 22y old Athanasiou who hasn't played a whole NHL season, yet. In my opinion you only trade Ekholm for a top 60C. The value of Athanasiou isn't quite enough to trade Ekholm.

If Ekholm goes in the expansion draft,....there no way Nashville exposes him. I'm just gonna leave it at that
