You need to actually give up something of value in order to be all in............

Its not 2 1st picks its zero first picks. My proposal since the NYR would have today up within the division would be a #1 pick this year, Lundkvist or Schneider, & Chytyl for Giroux alone. For Lindblom that's kind of interesting I would ask for probably a young prospect Cuylle or Othmann or possibly Kravtsov. The problem with Lindblom is he showed so much potential then got cancer and the jury is out on him. So trading potential for potential is how I am looking at it.

Chytil is a former first rounder, who is topping out as a 3rd liner.
Kravstov will always be a flight risk to play in the KHL if we doesn't get what he wants.
Both have very little value in a deal for a top line F. You can't count them as "valued at" first round picks. They've played their way out of that value at an NHL level.

Giroux starts with a first and includes a good prospect, esp with retention. Add more players to the deal (guys to make the cap work, or additional pieces from PHI) and you need to increase the value.

Manx is pretty close, but Schneider won't be offered.

If you take Chytil and Lindblom off the board and added a ranger 2nd rounder and a flyers 3rd rounder than maybe this trade would go through. I don't think the rangers and flyers are interested in trading in the same division.

Unless I am misunderstanding you (if I am I apologize) but the Flyers are not adding anything in (draft picks) to help a division rival to win a Stanley Cup.I tend to agree with you in that I dont think either team is interested in making the deal because the Rangers know its going to cost them more and the Flyers dont want them to win it unless they overpay.

One thing that could play a factor in the return for Giroux is the fact that he wants to play his 1000th game for Philly. he needs 7 more, so that brings us quite close to the TD. Should some teams not want to wait for that, they may look elsewhere to fill their holes earlier, leaving less of a pool vying for G and possibly lessening the return. Not saying that will happen, but it's a possibility. And honestly, it's in the Flyers best interest to move him and get assets to retool / rebuild. They can always circle back in the off season to resign him.

I think what might hurt the Flyers in terms of an expected return is I’ve been reading he will only accept a deal to Colorado and potentially one other team.

With that being said, I would be surprised to see him moved in a deal that did not include a first round pick or top prospect.

I think a realistic deal however would include the Avs 2023 1st round pick going back to Philly and maybe some other very low value pieces, but not much else.
