Jets certainly consider it. But Wheeler has been playing well lately. And it’s a lot to retain.
But if he is indeed a locker room cancer… then maybe it is time

In all honesty, I think it’s an attitude issue. He thinks he’s still that top line stud, and acts like it and expects to be treated like it… when the reality is, he’s a declining 2nd to 3rd liner

Even with the retention Wheeler is too much cap ($6M) for his age, plus the Penguins like to bring in team buys and move out bad eggs, not he other way around.
