I wouldn’t trade Matheson for Ritchie

Habs pretty easily decline that trade.

The habs have 6 wingers that have a the sameor better pts per game than Kapanen does this year. He doesnt move the needle for them.

Centers especially ones who can win faceoffs like Dvorak can are infinitely more valuable. So Dvorak >Kapanen.

DeSmith as a pending UFA has no value to the habs. They could get more simply moving allen for futures.

POJ is worth more than Kulak but has little value to the habs. Among the habs 23 and under LD options he is FIRMLY outside the top 2 (romanov and Guhle) and potentially struggling to be 3rd with Norlinder and Harris along with a bit of a wildcard in Xhekaj. Edmundson is also there with term. If he was right handed it would be a different conversation.

So we down grade our backup goalie, downgrade our 4th LD, all to make basically a lateral move for Kap? Makes sense I guess.
