The only move that makes sense is the Zuck for Jarnkrok.

which would be a pretty solid move for this season and the future. I really like this idea.

Well I obviously disagree. Getting a RHD prospect that is NHL ready for an underperforming D.Simon and ZAR would be great. And getting the cap space from ZAR too.

And getting Desluriers size and defense for the 4th line would be an upgrade. And he contributes offensively enough.

ZAR and D.Simon are getting stale in the lineup. Getting a RHD prospect, close to NHL ready, like Berglund, would be great for next season. Pens organization is so bare in RHD.

And giving O’Connor, Angello, Zohorna a run of games would be ideal. 4th line is getting so stale.

But getting a player and leader like Desluriers would be even better for a play-off/cup run. And he would fit under the cap, has an expiring contract and would only cost a mid-round pick. I think he fits perfect.

Deslauries has never ever in his career seen a positive xGF% or SCF%. He is an absolute black hole defensively. His team constantly gets caved in with him on the ice. He is a minus 7 at even strength.
Meanwhile Simon produces at the same rate as Deslauries at even, but provides actual defensive play. It's why the Pens are actually a plus with him on the ice and control shots and scoring chances. Also, Deslauries has almost twice as many offensive zone starts as he does defensive, which isn't something you do for a defensive stud.

D.Simon is underproducing and getting super stale in the line-up. I’d take Desluriers every day of the week. Super tough and built for play-off/cup run.

Super tough? He is a meathead that gets his ass beat at even strength. He is scrub 13th forward.
