Description

Time to move the UFAs and get the rebuild moving. Time to draft the supporting cast that will help prime Zegras, Terry, Mctavish and Drysdale put the Ducks in contention for years to come. Just give Madden the picks and get out of his way, that man knows what he is doing. These guys will be on entry levels when our big ticket guys will be getting paid.

For the now, I kept the roster as effective as I see it. It also gives some NCAA guys that will likely sign as well as the SD guys time with the big club. Who plays will be determined by whoever is giving you a more competitive effort. By giving them the remaining of the season, it should give the team an idea of whether they are close to ready or if a UFA is required come July.

Additional Details:

With the LW position being already crowded and Jones coming back, ANA can make this trade. ANA picks up Manson’s short term replacement. It’s a downgrade but contract would not jeopardize your cap when you need to resign your big ticket guys in a few years. Ducks also get a little cap space in the now and draft capital.

OTT

Additional Details:

OTT gets rid of Zaitsev’s contract that opens the roster spot for JBD or Thomson. They also get a productive veteran that can handle the third line with Brown.

Additional Details:

Change of scenery. Draft pick will likely be 33th-36th. With the great scouting record Anaheim has, they should be able to fetch a great prospect.

Additional Details:

MTL gets a young LW (francophone too) who can develop nicely under Marty’s system. After seeing what he did with Caufield, I have no doubts Comtois would benefit from this. MTL potential future top line Comtois, Suzuki, Caufiekd.
