The 2nd trade makes no sense for the Pens.

They're giving up the 2 best players in the deal and a 3rd round pick does not come close to making up the gap in value

Yamamoto, Barrie, 3rd for Pettersson, Reese

Only if the Pens are not resigning Letang. Barrie has big issues as a defenseman, However, if Letang leaves the Pens will need O from the blue line. Pettersson is much better on the D side, so if the Penguins resign Letang they would be better off with the better defensive player.

CHI can get a better offer for MAF elsewhere if TOR make a move.

Who knows. But CHI has to try and get as much value as we can out of our assets. We are in a bad way

i cannot see EDM making that deal. I think it would be awesome for the Pens but there value is so much more on the EDM side

Lol what? That's a horrific trade for the Pens.

Barrie is a defenseman in name only and isn't worth anything close to his contract, and Yamamoto has been massively disappointing this year.

Pettersson is a solid top 4 LHD and ZAR is one the best defensive forwards in the league.

You're beyond delusional if you think Edmonton is giving up more value here
