Of course Canucks accept, that’s a total overpay for Garland.

It really isn’t. Garland is a good two way player, young, and signed long-term.

Poulin is going to be a third liner at best. Kapanen has been terrible and needs a new contract. Sullivan is scratching Pettersson to play Mark Friedman. The late first likely gets you a Poulin-level player.

The Penguins need to move one of their LD to make the cap work. They also need to add a top six winger.

This is fair value to clear cap space and acquire a very good player.

Still definitely an overpay. 1st + Poulin is probably close maybe Kap or Pettersson to tip the scales but not both

The point is to get rid of both of those guys for the cap (this year and next). Kapanen has almost no value right now. Pettersson is viewed as overpaid and is getting healthy scratched.

Those players being involved doesn’t make it an overpay. It’s very hard to move money in a flat cap environment.

Cap space is an asset.

Canucks pass. Why saddle themselves with more dead cap money? Pitt's pick isn't worth all that.

This is ridiculous. What an absolute overpay for a guy that isn't that good and is way overpaid. Garland is not that good. Put him on the pens roster and he is probably the 9th or 10th best player.

Besides this being a bad trade, it is way unrealistic. Show me one other trade in the history of the NHL that is even close to this v

Gets demoted to the fourth line every game. Healthy scratched. Struggling in pretty much every way.

Lol. I take you are unfamiliar with the player. He’s really freaking good on both ends of the ice. And he plays with an edge.

Garland for Poulin, Kapanen, Pettersson, 1st

Much rather have Garland than Boeser. With Rutherford, the Pens might even be able to take out the 1st. He is a big fan of all three of Poulin, Kapanen, and Pettersson.

He was pretty good in Toronto, then Sullivan got a hold of him and jacked him up.
