Description
If I were Guerin I would keep Fiala, trade Dumba, sell high on Hartman, add some size to the D corps, and add another Penguins D prospect to our lineup:)….Offense generally isn’t the problem, it feels like we currently have a D corps full of skilled defenseman who aren’t aggressive enough. I figured it would be wise to add big bodies on the blue line (Zadorov and P.O.) who aren’t afraid to throw the body around.

Off note:

I’m assuming Jost will get a look at center between Bolds and Kev within the next few weeks to see if they can spark some of the offensive upside that never materialized for him with the Avs, if that ends up working out I could see him centering those 2 next season with Gaudreau dropping to the forth line.

Why not just keep Dumba if you’re gonna pay Zadorov that much?

Because we wouldn’t be able to sign Dumba when his contract is up unless he takes a pay cut, also it evens out both sides of the defense. With Dumba still on the roster our right side would be great and our left side would be average, with Zadorov, both our left and right side are above average.

Toronto can't afford Dumba's $6,000,000 cap hit Wild would need to retain 50% and a 3rd team retain another 50% to afford him.

Russo said off the cuff during a call last week he thought Dumba might consider something in the 4.5million range. Not saying it would happen but if Dumba wants to stay he'd be wise to let BG know he'd take a pay cut after the season is over before BG trades him or Fiala.
