Jones isn't a bad contract. What we gave up for him is the horrendous part. The cap hit is just a cherry on top, after giving up that much he didn't even try to get a discount contract. I would prefer Bowman got Jones down to like $7.5 - 8mil, but it is still within reason. And as the team gets better, so will he. I think he is playing pretty darn well considering how bad CHI is defensively.

All that being said, I would reverse that trade in a heartbeat.

Agreed. Said it then, I'll say it now - Jones is a fine top-pairing RD, and I don't necessarily see that changing anytime soon. If this were a FA signing last year, sure CHI might be wincing, but the way the D market blew up last off-season, it's not necessarily out of place, even if it's an overpay.

I think a lot of people just resent the Hawks and Hawks fans from all the years they dominated. So they like to say "nope. He's garbage. You're stuck with him!" just to troll us and kick us when we're down. Sports fans can be pretty brutal. lol

This is true. I tried to be reasonable with other fans for a long time but so many people have irrational hatred for people who don't share their perspective, get off on talking down to people, and/or have intellectual inferiority complexes. So, I've given up on playing nice and trying to have real discussions on here, for the most part. Which just ends up perpetuating the irrationality of it all. But It's nice to run into people like you once in a while who can at least admit how stupid ACGM really is.
