Agree. I just didnt know if it would need to be a higher 2nd pick or player or another prospect.

I just can’t see the panthers winning the cup this year, mostly due to lack of experience. Who on that team has made it out of the first round? I think Montour did his rookie year. Hornqvist of course. Has gudas? I don’t think so.

Great team, but i don’t think this is their year.

I think if you made the pick a 2nd/3rd and replaced Mamin with a better prospect it would get it done

Verhaeghe won the cup with Tampa. Acciari has also been to the finals

Also guys like Bennett and Bobrovsky have experience from the second round. There's also Thornton, lol.

I think their last playoff matchup with Tampa was a valuable one. A lot of guys learned more than their fair share of playoff hockey. If the Panthers can beat them this year, the sky is the limit.

Also if they added Bruan like i have in the Philly trade he has deep playoff experience from his days with the Sharks.

Yes, but you see my point. The core guys don’t have experience with the intensity ramping up. I think most teams kind of seem to have a right of passage loss before the big win.
Barkov, huberdeau, ekblad, weegar, Reinhart, duclair, lundell, marchment etc etc etc all don’t have experience out of the first round.

Thats ridiculously stupid at this stage. There are definitely some playoff teams you can cross off. Getting it down to two makes it sound like you’ve never watched the playoffs before.

I mean that they will probably make it to the final four, but I mean come on, the top nine on Florida is insane and the Avs d core is out of this world, and they have this guy named mackinnon idk if he’ll do anything

Sure. Good teams lose literally all the time. Remember tampa getting swept by CBJ? Anyone expect the islanders to go to game 7 of the conference finals?

Florida is going to have to beet two of Toronto, Boston, and Tampa to get to the conference finals. Just an FYI, moneypuck, that site that crunches all the numbers to give percentages of teams making it to certain rounds etc gives that Colorado - florida matchup a 2.8% of happening, which is actually super high.

Lol. Toronto is a non issue come playoff time. And I would be worried about the Pens before the Bruins if I were the Panthers. Tampa is a legit hurdle tho.

Fair enough. Haven’t checked in on the bruins or the penguins in the new year? Only team that has a better record since january 1 is florida, and its fractional. The bruins actually have five more points in that stretch. Since the end of january, so a 6 week stretch, the bruins have the best record in the east. Penguins have been mediocre.
