If Chychrun Happens

Created by: bruinsdude77

Initial Creation Date: Mar. 18, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I didn't think that the Bruins had the pieces to land Chychrun but reportedly they're still kicking around as a top suitor. Chychrun would be a game-changer as a long-term partner for McAvoy, but I wouldn't just sell the entire farm. This trade would have to hurt a little, but within limits. Lohrei kills me but at least its to get a long-term LD1, which is his expected role. DeBrusk becomes a top-six piece for Arizona. Steen is a top-nine forward immediately. Svedeback becomes the top goalie in ther Yotes pipeline. Plus three picks. As long as it isn't Lysell and a 2023 first-rounder outright or multiple first-rounders, I'd be ok. Not great, but ok.

Kessel replaces DeBrusk and I honestly think he would be fine. If he absolutely falters and they really don't want to mix up the second or third lines, use Foligno or call up Studnicka, Czarnik, or Froden (or use Pysyk?). Again, this means benching Kessel which just won't happen. He'll be fine.

Maybe not, but then I don't think it happens at all. I truly believe that Lysell is untouchable.

I honestly beg to differ, people bring up the fact that Boston's prospects aren't as good as other teams, but those other teams don't want to give up their top prospects either. So if that was the package they might pull the trigger.

Untouchable? He has 47 points in 41 games in the dub. That’s not very good for a first rounder in a D+1 year.

Boston’s prospects are not very good- their top prospects would probably be middle tier guys in better systems like LA, ANA, NJ, BUF. So to your point about other teams not giving up top prospects, their top prospects are better than your top prospects so it’s not an apples to apples comparison.
