I wouldn’t be surprised if they did, Holland did Millstein a solid with Kane

Husso has a handful of good games under his belt and you're making a 3 year bet based on that?

Here's his splits:

All of the 2020-21 season: 3.21 GAA, .893 sv%
First 14 games this season: 1.81 GAA, .945 sv%
Past 13 games this season: 2.85 GAA, .903 sv%

Spot the 14-game outlier.

CSA tracks pre shot movement and has Husso facing some pretty insane quality against, sv% doesn’t tell the whole story, he’s stayed top 5 is GSAx via CSA. Just did the contract similar to Dreidgers last year considering they’re pretty comparable. Except Husso has had a harder workload

Link to CSA?

Also, how is that Driedger contract working out for Seattle? And anyways, Driedger had 2 good seasons prior to getting that contract, not just 14 games.

You're taking on a massive risk, not smart with Draisaitl under contract for just 3 more seasons.

Two seasons prior to UFA:
Driedger: +0.442 GSAx/60
Husso: +0.236

Here are Husso' GSAx splits:

All of the 2020-21 season: -0.500 GSAx/60
First 14 games this season: +1.190
Past 13 games this season: +0.230

Driedger's GSAx splits:

2019-20: 12 games, +.790 GSAx/60
2020-21: 23 games, +.450

I certainly wouldn't put too much trust in such a small sample size. You're right about St. Louis' defense being porous, but is yours any better?

It’s not working out well for Seattle that’s clear, but you have to take a swing, the crop of FA goalies is pretty weak. As you say Drat has 3 years left and they can’t keep patchworking the position.

GSAx by EvolvingHockey, NST, and Patrick Bacon can be deceiving due to the lack of pre shot movement tracking. Kevin Woodley on Twitter is a great follow for goalie info, he works closely with CSA.

Husso is a patch, IMO.
