Description
Unfortunately I believe Bergeron is retiring after this year, he has had a very long and successful career and will want to spend more time with his kids. If he is retiring then I believe he has made Sweeney somewhat aware of this, which would make sense because he hasn't left any salary cap space for Bergeron.

They also don't have much money at all to spend in free agency for a center. The only option I could see them doing is trading Debrusk for a center but Debrusk's value around the league is obviously not very high. Dylan Strome from Chicago could be a good trade option for Debrusk but I think the Bruins would need to include at least a 2nd round draft pick plus a prospect to get Strome.

Lysell and McLaughlin both get some time with the Bruins at some point during the season. I think at least 1 of them looks strong and sticks with the big club, they both have a ton of potential. This would allow the Bruins to trade Debrusk at next year's trade deadline and move Lysell to RW1 for example.

What ideas does everyone else have? I hate seeing Coyle in the top center spot, what other options do you think the Bruins have, realistic options?

It's very exciting to see how good Hampus Lindholm looked, the Bruins will have a very solid defense and goaltending locked up for many years.

Thanks guys.

I just don’t think your logic has any basis in reality.

How so? Just wondering what everyone else is thinking for next year. There are never very many trades that are actually made over the summer and I don't see Sweeney making a huge plunge into Free Agency with no money to spend.

They have space for Bergeron. He'll be a 35+ contract so they could give him $1 million with bonuses that wouldn't count until the following season.

-No need to re-sign Lazar (+$1.75 million).
-Reilly is likely the odd man out and moved for a mid pick (+$3 million)
-DeBrusk if moved 100% for picks and/or prospects is another $4 million in cap space.

^3 pretty simple moves that added about $9 million in cap space
