Darryl Sutter basically confirmed Monahan would see some time as a healthy scratch heading forward…mentioned the major hip surgery Monahan had over the summer and that as a coach, he should have managed his minutes and sat him for previous games to help manage his recovery.

hronek is a completely useless piece for the islanders as 4m third pair defenseman and a soon to be pending UFA. he has no value for them whatsoever. what else do you have? would edvinsson be available?

Edvinsson is probably untouchable as of now since he is playing so good in Europe and seems to be a perfect fit to make the wings for next season. Would trade Edvinsson for a select few players but Barzal is not one of them

fair, just don’t think bertuzzi with any combo of other potentially available pieces is really all that appealing considering hronek’s not a fit unless they can flip him immediately in a three way deal for a 1st + prospect or something like that
