Description

Wingers:
Hyman, Yamamoto, and Puljujärvi are locks for top-6, leaving one LW slot available. Kane can have it if he wants to re-sign, otherwise I expect Holloway to be the frontrunner. Only locks for bottom-6 are Foegele, Ryan, and McLeod, with one of the latter 2 likely playing 4C. So 2 spots available there. Hopefully at least one goes to a prospect.

Centres:
Obviously only one spot available here at 4C. Doubt anyone passes Ryan or McLeod, but I could see Bourgault getting some games in if circumstances permit.

Defense:
Our RD is locked up with Bouchard, Ceci, and Barrie. LD is a little weird - Nurse is the only lock. Keith might retire, Kulak might re-sign, so anywhere from 0 to 2 spots available. If one is, hopefully Broberg is ready to make the leap.

Goalies:
Not even sure where to start. Smith might be traded, Koskinen might move on. The Oilers net is as ever a question mark. Skinner will have his shot at the starter's net hopefully, but Konovalov could be a dark horse. Odds are I expect Holland to sign a veteran goalie which nullifies most of this discussion.

Nemo has a better chance than Samorukov, Samo needs one more full year in the AHL before becoming a full time NHLer

Do you watch AHL? Samorukov has been much better than Niemelainen in the 2nd half.

Edit; also, Sambo is waivers eligible next season while Nemo isn't, meaning he's more likely to stay with the big club.

Holloway for sure. I think Bourgault has a good chance too, but he's a winger, not a center.

I think you've got the tiers pretty much nailed. I might bump Nemo up one but there's a lot of depth at that position.

I know it is an unpopular opinion but I think Yamo should be dealt to get a goalie or a shutdown dman. Resign Pujli and Kane. Hyman is a RH shot so move him over to the RW to make a spot on the LW for Holloway. Play McL on the LW, he deserves more than 4C minutes. Go out and sign a cheap bigger, meaner 4C, and a cheap winger to crash and bang on the 4th line and protect all the talent. Bourgault gets a few call ups for sure on the RW. Nemo up fulltime as 7th dman because of waiver situation. Broberg could end up being up and down still because Duncan Keith.

Nemo is waiver exempt next year. Samorukov is not - hence the likelyhood he gets the 7th spot over Nemo.

oops! my bad, I mixed them up. Regardless, send Samorukov with Yamo in a package to get a goalie or shutdown dman.
