I'd be pretty surprised if Nashville got out of the Ellis contract last summer, only to turn around and take on an older, worse defenceman a year later.

I'm curious as to why you're adding Romanov to the Drouin/Tatar deal?

Lmao MTL isn't doing they NJ trade, has 1 year left they aren't giving away Romanov to get rid of him that's ridiculous.
Doubt Petry waived for NSH he will probably try to get closer to home.

I think both of these players are insanely overrated but the Devils should still take this without thinking.

Douin isnt overrated he's garbage. And if you've watched Romanov play this season you'd see the progress he has taken he will fit comfortably in the top 4, he's shown flashes of offensive ability but hes solid defensively still makes some mistakes but thats normal for a young dman. His checking however is elite and he's able to flip moment with his open ice hits. That being said i wouldve trade romanov straight up for Tatar and a 1st. That's a massive loss for Mtl.

In general, I think players like Romanov are highly overrated due to their style of play. As in, you get caught up in the big hits and miss that his impacts are...poor.

Though he /has/ improved since last year in terms of on-ice impacts so that's good. Regardless though, I think the jury is very much so out and that he's overrated because he hits a lot.

I will reiterate he's a very solid top 4 option as is and its still progressing. Hitting is a large part of his game for sure, but he has been the most consistent defenseman on our roster this year. He still makes mistake thats for sure but Drouin for Tatar on its own is debatable thinking that romanov would be added shows a complete lack of understanding of what romanov is as a player.

I understand your point. I'm just telling you that the numbers aren't overly supportive of it currently lol
