Description
New management means a new mindset. I think Lehner is a good goalie and would be happy to have him stay in Buffalo, but whoever gets appointed to GM may not like him as his guy. Smith is the perfect option to hold down the fort until Petersen is ready for NHL duties. Ullmark has shown he can play at this level and can alleviate some of Smith's workload. Sabres get a cheap, bottom pairing RHD and a young winger with some offensive upside. Arizona gets potentially their goalie of the future in a much younger player, Foligno can plug and play in the bottom 9 and be effective, and Ennis fits in the middle 6 with some scoring touch (not a bad value at 3M per year).
Caps get good depth on defense after losing some in the offseason, only one year remaining means it's not a huge investment.
Chicago dumps Kruger's salary with a 2nd rounder to snag Larsson who is perfect in a bottom 6 role for cheap.

I toyed with the idea of Smith for Lehner and really liked it. I definitely think you could get him, Duclair, and Schenn for much less though. Like Lehner and Foligno alone could do it. The Kruger deal I like, but I'd rather keep Larsson and move Girgensons. And Gorges deal could make sense, but Buffalo would need to retain salary. He would bring good depth to Buffalo though even if we send him to ROCH and he's here in case of injury
