Is that what a 20 goal scorer makes these days? Almost 7? I'd rather let him walk.

If Strome stays he will have signed at a significant discount...I would guess in the range of 5 - 5.25 M per year. If he hits the open market I can see him landing a contract north of 6M per. So for him the choice will be to sign a discounted contract (although still an obscene amount of money!) to continue on in NY OR go for the BIG bucks by delving into the unknown...does his career then revert back to where he was as an Oiler?? I'm guessing that Strome bets on himself and goes for the $$...but if there was ever a player who "owes" his team a sweetheart deal- who knows where Strome would be right now had NYR not traded for him a few years back?
